The Safety Green Marching Machine is an 85-member marching band consisting of 6th through 8th graders at the middle schools of Eastern Carver County which is located 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band meets for an hour a week in the summer and performs in community parades and festivals. Students learn the basics of marching and perform great music highlighted by the hits of Metallica.

My program is in the current stage of rebuilding but in the best way. The stories about the last director were rough, but I am in my second year at Riverdale and the sound is amazing, the kids are energized, and heavy metal is some of their favorite arrangements to play, including Enter Sandman, Iron Man, and more. They have grown as musicians, and found a love of band in the process. Even just a shoutout would mean the world to these kids, but anything is great. Thank you!
